The Speed of Light is a Constant

Seems like a good time, the right time,
for a prayer.

Not a chest-heaving, life-leaving prayer.
Just a prayer.

A long, nobody done me wrong, patient
kind of prayer.

A continuing prayer, one without Amen
at the end.

A prayer to slip my mind into the pocket
of the sun.
