\nA slanting spring sunlight has reached
\nevery corner of my yard and the green
\nfeeling of all that returns brings me back
\nto a dawn Mass in the chapel of the abbey,
\nthe spring prayers curling like incense
\nas they rise toward heaven and a deity
\nthe monks believe cannot help but listen,
\nand remembering their song in these
\nthe first weeks of our affliction, I do too.<\/p>\n
