Some people enter our lives
\nthrough the blind spots
\nwhile others are expected to exit
\nwith their perspectives packed
\non their backs or stacked in the
\ncircular cracks of our own
\nrigidly-caged characters.<\/p>\n
Those who enter may soon exit
\nbecause we’re fully-awake
\nto their hyperreal words and facts
\nbut wholly-asleep to our own deep
\ntender-hearted spiritual selves.<\/p>\n
We go months after months
\nwaving
\nat fake-true entrances and exits
\ncraving
\na lasting moment of meaning\u2014
\nstripped of strains and stains
\nand dipped neck-deep
\nin purpose and peace.<\/p>\n
We often sit to reflect (or vent)
\nin a tiny corner-tent built of broken
\nolive branches collecting particles of dust.
\nWe sit and unconsciously wait for the high
\nwhistling winds to absolve
\nall of our inept illusions.<\/p>\n
Then we recall Rumi who still walks
\nacross the literate cultures of the earth
\nand sings in people’s folded ears
\na timeless priceless couplet:
\n“The truth is concealed
\nin falsehood like
\nthe taste of butter
