tree cloaked in snow<\/p>\n<p>Let it come to my sadness<br \/>\nwalking past Santa and Rudolf sprawled<br \/>\nflat on their backs on a dew-glistened lawn<\/p>\n<p>To the family of wild turkeys in the swale<br \/>\nbehind Oak Street scavenging<br \/>\nbirdseed chaff from my feeder<\/p>\n<p>Let it come to the boy in the Domino\u2019s van<br \/>\ndelivering a small cheese pizza to the man<br \/>\ndown the block who shelters alone<\/p>\n<p>To the stricken in sealed-off rooms, in silence,<br \/>\nin vanishing, and to their loved ones,<br \/>\nwho are dipping their hands in grief<\/p>\n<p>Let it come to the trucker driving<br \/>\nhis fourteen-wheeler all night<br \/>\ndown I-95, hauling lumber<\/p>\n<p>To the blue heron on the bank<br \/>\nof Willow Pond tuning her wings<br \/>\nto the key of wind<\/p>\n<p>To the green snake, to the ant,<br \/>\nto the sweetgum tree<br \/>\nthat knows trembling<\/p>\n<p>And to the sorry, to the hardened,<br \/>\nto the amber
