‘Thou shalt not kill’ and
moral principles
taught in Sunday school
trained out of you to
be a fit soldier
able to withstand torture
all in basic training
for the United States military.
Back home now missing limbs,
brain injuries,
thoughts of suicide,
guilt, PTSD,
pain med addictions.
